You’re Appreciated! Winning Has Its Advantages

One Year Anniversary Contest Runners Up

Well it’s been over a month since my One Year Anniversary Contest and I am finally getting around to the You’re Appreciated! post dedicated to my runners up.  Even though it took me a while to get to it, it doesn’t mean these are not deserving blogs.  On the contrary, I think you’ll find them to be a very interesting and eclectic group of bloggers.

You’re Appreciated! Brown Eyed Gal Wins My One Year Anniversary Contest

thanks_graphics_10It was a close race but Danielle over at Brown Eyed Gal won the Super Deluxe Out of the Box Sampler in my One Year Anniversary Contest. Congratulations Danielle! Her prize ships out July 1. (They go on sale July 1st so if you want one, you better hurry over to their website before they sell out. I order one for Heather every month.) Danielle was so excited when she won that she wrote me this in an email, “YOU have made my day!!! WOW…Im just so excited I can hardly stand it. (it is about 2am here in MI and I almost woke my husband and son up! LOL)” I’d say that almost waking up the hubby and kid at 2 am would definitely count as pretty darn excited.

What’s even more exciting is Danielle’s blog, Brown Eyed Gal.  Her subtitle is “a little bit of this….and a lot of that!” I love the way her blog looks, especially the colors. The ruddy oranges, soft blues, muted olive greens, and the clay-like tan colors in her blog are earthy tones often found in southwestern motifs, yet the blog design has a scrapbook feel to it. The header font looks like buttons and I really like the balloons and bluebird on a branch that remain stationary as you scroll down the blog.  It’s clean, pretty, and easy-on-the-eyes… (more…)

You’re Appreciated! The Only Thing that Separates Us from the Animals is Our Ability to Blog

Welcome to another installment of You’re Appreciated!, the blog post where bloggers can be appreciated with no strings attached. Today I am featuring three of my favorite bloggers so naturally I have included one of my favorite quotes in this post’s headline. It’s really an easy one. Can you guess what movie it’s from? the word that blog replaced? The actress who said the line? (I gave you a hint by saying “actress.”) Since all of the featured bloggers are women, it seems only right that my featured quote would be from a women in a movie that most guys would call a “chick flick.”

I can’t say enough about my three featured bloggers. They produce well written, sharp looking blogs. They make me laugh. They get me thinking. They make me want more. Take a look at their list of followers and you’ll find out that I’m not the only one craving for extra helpings of their bloggy goodness. Since the beginning of my blogging days, I have been following these blogs around like a little lost puppy dog, snarfing up bits and scraps of blogging ideas. You’re Appreciated! I’ll Have What She’s Blogging

It’s time for another You’re Appreciated! post where yours truly (me) serves up three fresh and tasty blogs for my readers’ sensory pleasure.  For any newbies out there, 2 – 3 times a month I feature three bloggers who intrigue, amuse, excite, and/or educate their readers with flair, heart, humor, and sometimes a little itty bit of naughtiness. I showcase 3 different posts from each blog to help give you a sampling of each blog’s flair. And if you haven’t already noticed, I take a famous line from a movie and change one or two words from it into some form of the word “blog” and include it in the post’s headline.  Can anyone guess what movie and what line is featured today? Your Appreciated: Blogs That Make You Go Hmmm

thanks_graphics_10When I first started my blog, I wanted to have a serial post that I would do on regular intervals.  I was thinking something on the lines of a weekly poetry post or monthly movie review or a Sunday Dinner Dish recipe post.  Anyway, that never happened but I did start a You’re Appreciated post where I would feature and link to three blogs/bloggers who I thought my readers might enjoy reading as much as I do.  I was getting so many awards (cause I’m so fabulous!) and tags and I simply didn’t want my blog to be nothing more than a blog award stepping stone.  This was a great replacement. It gave the blogs I liked a link that helped them with their google page rating, hopefully sent them some new readers, and required NO RECIPROCATION.  Well I’ve brought it back and plan to have it as a regular serial post on my newly, redesigned, slightly less blingy but certainly still fabulous blog.  Now on to my three selections… (more…)

A Brother In The Sauce (BITS) Says "Thank You!"

sitsYesterday I was the featured blogger over at The Secret is in the Sauce and can proudly display the “I’m Saucy” widget in my sidebar. I want to say “Thank you” to all the wonderful SITStas who stopped by my blog to send me some comment lovin’. I was overwhelmed by not only the number of comments but by the many kind and caring remarks that so many people left for me. I am truly humbled.

Well I hate to admit it, but I have been rather lax in the area of acknowledging awards I’ve been given and prizes I’ve received. Things just got a little out of hand and before I knew it, I had more crap piled up waiting for my blog than I had crap piling up in my house, if that is even possible. Blah Blah Blog…

I am so behind on everything that it’s not even funny. I’ve been give blog awards that I haven’t responded to, I’ve won prizes that I barely acknowledged, and I didn’t even post about my New Year’s Eve dinner with Linda. (and I even took pictures) I promise I will get to the prizes and awards, especially the awesome t-shirt I won from my friend over at A World of Progress. Go read her blog…really, go here and do it now. I’ll wait right here until your done.
Ah, your back. I take it you enjoyed her blog? Good… I know I just did a post on apathy and I suppose that it is trickling down to this post as well…or running up or over or whatever you want to call it. I guess I am at a loss for words and I didn’t want to fall into publishing crap posts like, “I didn’t do anything this week” or “There’s nothing to report.” Why even publish a post like that? Another Award and Another Tag

Well just like Morton Salt, when it rains-it pours! I’ve just received another award from my friend, Queenie Jeannie, over at Jeannie’s Happy World.  She’s a proud Army wife and a mother of three.  She’s got a pinky cute blog and is one of the nicest bloggers to boot.  She received a blog award and switched it with another because she already had that award. She’s marvericky like that. (Tina Fey, eat your heart out.)  Anyway, thank you so much for giving me the “I Big Red Puffy Heart Your Blog” award.  Since I’m combining this with a tag I received, I won’t pass this award along.
